Post: Jim Carrey is the best comedian of all timePosted: Thu Jun 09, 2005 1:30 pm    Post subject: Jim Carrey is the best comedian of all time Reply with quote

Jim Carrey is hilarious. I cannot think of another person save Robin Williams that even comes close to Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey, a Canadian, is the funniest man alive.

When you see him in the early days on In Living Color, or in his first real role as Ace Ventura Pet Detective you had to know this guy was special. He has been in many quality films like, Liar Liar, Me Myself & Irene, The Mask and more.

Jim Carey is the best. Dumb and Dumber, Me, Myself, And Irene, and Bruce Almighty crack me up something fierce. Carey is a comedic genuis. Can't wait to see what he's going to do next.

Funniest guy on the planet. Of that, I am certain. Makes Adam Sandler look like the idiot he is. And a word to Adam Sandler fans who may think about a rebuttal (that's a reply back, I'm sure someone who thinks Adam Sandler is funnier doesn't know what rebuttal means). Remember, if you think Adam Sandler is funnier, Its better to shut your mouth and look like an idiot, then open your mouth and prove it. He cannot hold a candle to the comic genius of Jim Carrey.

I thought there might be a few old timers out there... or Robin Williams fans out there that would have disputed my claim..... interesting.

Jim is a funny guy, and Dumb and Dumber had me laughing all the way through. But for me Robin Williams is defiatly the King of funny. I would give Jim a close second, and Bill Cosby a third. The only reason Bill gets third is he was funny and clean at the same time, I've not seen his equal in that regard.

I would never say that you are wrong. I think Robin Williams is funny, and I would have agreed with you a year ago.... but have a look at these movies and tell me who has been in more block busters. I think if you honestly look at this list of movie titles that you will have to agree that Jim is a funnier man.

I would say if we were including Stand up comedy then Robin may be funnier, but if we are looking at tv and movie appearances then my vote at least is Jim Carrey

Hey guys... Since I'm a Canadian, I love your choice, but I feel that Jim Carrey's not that funny. I feel that the funniest CANADIAN is definitely MIKE MYERS, he starred in Autin Powers and has great ideas, I think Jim Carrey just reads the script and does what he's told... Sorry to all those who feel Jim is the King of Comedy, he would make my top 10... Confused

Jim Carey rocks at improvisation. Mike Meyers is funny, but nowhere near Carey. I do like Austin Powers. Those were Meyers best works since So, I Married An Axe Murderer, Wayne's World, and the voice for Shrek. Don't get me wrong he's up there, but not even on the same page as Jimbo Carey. Very Happy Cool Evil or Very Mad Razz Arrow Wink

I guess the only reason I really like Mike Myers is because he's in the Austin Powers movies. I will never say that I don't enjoy Jim Carrey, but I believe his best was in Ace Ventura.
Neither of these 2 actors are my favourites. I'd rather actors from the UK. Smile

I'm a huge fan of both Anthony Hopkins and Ian McKellen. Anthony is my favourite though... his best role, I feel, was in Meet Joe Black, when he starred alongside Brad Pitt. Just the way Anthony Hopkins acted when he had a heart attack... whoo! It takes an amazing actor to pull it off.

Bingo Swing. Good pics indeed with those two actors especially with Sir Anthony Hopkins. Meet Joe Black was an amazing film and I think under-rated as well. Twisted Evil

Am I missing the point here somewhere? Were we not talking about the best comedian of all time? I completely agree that these are two of the best actors, but you can't compare them to Jim Carrey or Mike Myers as comedians..... or am I just lost?

hard to say who is the best comedian to me. love them all as long as they keep me laughing. William's and Carey at a tie with me. Carey funnier at the movie scene and William's taking it at the stand up scene.
