Stephen King Tried to talk Stanley Kubrick out of casting Jack Nicholson in the lead of Jack Torrance (Nicholson's character)

I think Stephen King wanted Michael Moriarty or Jon Voight to play the part. As I understand it King thought that Nicholson looks were that of a crazy person to start with and what he wanted was a normal looking lead man who would gradually go crazy in front of the audiences eyes.
