Filter, in my opinion, are one of the best hard-hitting under-rated bands ever to hit the music scene. Unfortunatley, the band is on hiatus due to the lead singer Richard Patrick who has joined with two former Stone Temple Pilots bandmates to create a new band called Army Of Anyone. I can hardly wait to hear it. Army Of Anyone should hit music stores sometime late this summer. Filter consists of Richard Patrick - lead vocalist, guitars, bass, programming, 2. Geno Lenardo - guitars, bass, chorale sitar, mandolin, programming, 3. Steven Gillis - live drums and percussion, 4. Frank Cavanagh - bass. The first time I heard Filter's 'Hey Man Nice Shot' I was hooked. I bought Filter's debut album titled 'Short Bus', and was completely blown away by the sounds coming out of this band. With songs like: Hey Man Nice Shot, Dose, Under, Spent, Take Another, Stuck In Here, It's Over, White Like That, Consider This, and So Cool will blow your mind. The album embraces the typical love/hate involving relationships, everday life, and the brutal world we live in. Filter's follow up album titled 'Title Of Record' is equally amazing as their first, if not better. The album consists of songs like: Sand, Welcome To The Fold, Captain Bligh, It's Gonna Kill Me, The Best Things, Take A Picture, Skinny, I Will Lead You, Cancer, I'm Not The Only One, and Miss Blue will put you in a trance taking you on a voyage to the secrets we keep deep down dark and hidden. The place where pain and sorrow live with a momentary glimpse of light and hope only to be shawdowed by the things we fear and try desperately to avoid. That's what I get out of Filters music. It's something you should experience. If you haven't had the oppurtunity to hear or see Filter I highly recommend them to anyone whose passionate about music and wants to stray from the mainstream for awhile to digest something rare and magnificent. More Filter updates and history are soon to follow for you fans and groupies or band-aids. So hang in there for there's always more to come. Twisted Evil
