Jay Leno received a complaint from an outraged view after a skit involving Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting accident and comparing it to the 2003 videotaped shooting outside a Los Angeles courthouse.
The complainant, Wendy Brogin, a friend of shooting victim Gerald Curry, wrote to Leno condemning the recent sketch as offensive and asking him to "do the right thing relative to this matter."

The skit was in poor taste, and it cannot be disputed. Sometimes a comedian like Jay takes jokes to the edge but I wonder if Wendy is being too sensitive. Not that I don't think she has reasons, but when the skit was clearly intended to be light hearted, a person has a choice. They can take offense... or they can take it for what it is.... a joke. I think comedy is societies way of healing from tragedy. Some people will be offended as a result. It’s good that Jay is willing to apologize but should this story be that big a deal? |

I find it offensive that you even question the delicate sensibilities of the public.
Of course someone will whine about anything. It's how things are done these days. PC to the max. Then a little more for good measure.
A truer test of the depth of her outrage would be a lawsuit, as I also see those being thrown around like water.
Any chance this is a publicity stunt? I can see it now "Memoirs of a shot lawyer"....hell, i'd buy it just to see if they had an illustrated page of the shooting....
