For you avid readers of all sorts out there I wanted to start a topic about books you like to read. Honestly, I've been an on and off again reader. Lately though, I've gone back to books because I find Tv and movies are becoming rather dull recently. So, this is what I've read in the last couple of weeks.

1. Ann Granger - Shades Of Murder. This is one great peice for those who like murder/mysteries. I highly recommend it.
Right now I'm between two books. I'm re-reading Frank Peretti's ' The Oath '. This book scrares the crap out of me. A fantastical dark journey into the pits of hell. Read it. The other book is called ' Witchcraze ' written by Anne Llewellyn Barstow. Witchcraze takes you up back to medieval times documenting women whom were burnt at the stake for apparently practicing witchcraft. There's more to it then that. This is another excellent read. Let me know what you guys read and like.

2 books i think that will be right up your alley:

1. The rule of Four. i read this about 2 years ago and i cant remember exactly what it was about but i do remember that it was very good. kind of a da vinci code type book.

2. Cryptonomicon - neil stevensen(sp?) awesome book that mixes current day with wwii flash backs and adds in codes and code breaking and a treasure hunt for good measure. very interesting very gripping book.

DT

Oh Ya welcome back.

I'm currently reading one by Wilber Smith, called "River God". It's set in ancient Egypt, and full of mythology and action. I'm about 1/2 way through and it's been an awsome read so far.

But my Fav book of all time has got to be "the Walking Drum " by Loius L'Amour.

excellent shout, Neal Stephenson (there's the correct spelling for you Smile )is a brilliant author, his novel Snow Crash is my favourite book and the most read, Diamond Age is another very VERY good book.

check out Michael Marshall Smith as well, another awesome author.

I've been hitting the heavy duty books recently, read the Iliad by Homer (no, not Simpson), Paradise Lost and the Divine Comedy as well, thinking of having a go at war and peace to see if I can stick at it!

read some of the "modern classics" during a phase as well, stuff like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Generation X, Catch 22, factotum and the Dice Man.

Okay I have to weigh in on this one...

I am a fantasy reader and I like any books written by Raymond E. Feist, David Eddings, Katherine Kerr, R. A. Salvador and the duo Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman. I tend to read a fair bit so I make sure I follow these authors. I also have many other favorites... but they are too many to list. If you ever want a good read, check out the Death Gate Cycle series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I really enjoyed it. I guess I shouldn't forget Robert Jordan... just about forgot.. I am sure a few of my friends would have crucified me for leaving him out.. the Wheel of Time rocks!
