Iron Man will be directed by Nick Cassavetes. Tom Cruise is rumored to be actively seeking the role.

The Iron Man story is about the suave CEO of Stark Enterprises, Tony Stark, is a high-tech genious and billionaire--making the world's most imaginative weapons defense systems. But when a powerful competitor attempts to kill him, and almost succeeds, he must build a modern-day suit of armor to stay alive. Building even more agile and powerful versions of the awesome suit, Tony uses his power to fight crime as the Invincible Iron Man! Tom Cruise as Tony Stark ( Iron Man ) might be a longshot for Cruise, but then again he's been on a hot streak in movies lately. Iron Man might turn out pretty good in the end.
