Mabye some of you have seen or heard tribute bands, bands like
"Thunderstruck"
THUNDERSTRUCK is without a doubt the most accurate tribute on the market you are going to find, period. Both in the reproduction of the sound of AC/DC and awesome stage show including pyrotechnics, ringing of Hell's Bells and Cannon Shots. Every detail has been painstakingly reproduced, from Angus` school boy outfit and signature Gibson SG guitar (let's not forget his crazy, high energy on stage antics) to a singer who sounds so much like Brian Johnson and Bon Scott that you'd swear it was them! If you want your establishment, nightclub or event to rock then this is a must have show. Members of AC/DC have been known to show up at THUNDERSTRUCK shows and play with the band.

Thunderstruck forms a tribute to AC/DC in the spring of 1998. A variety of talented musicians, together promote their abilities and successfully execute the works of the famous rock band from Australia. Thunderstruck plays with a compilation of the most popular AC/DC tunes with heart wrenching charisma and commitment, truly a tribute to one of Rock and Roll's pioneer Bands.

Thunderstruck is also one of the only bands to be endorsed by the real band!!!

So tell me... Do you enjoy Tribute Bands? Yay or Nay?
If Yay, who,s your fav, who have you heard?
If no, please post your negative reply so others can enjoy!

There are so many tribute bands... The ABBA tribute band, Bjorne Again was too big an act to come to Victoria. Then there's that Queen tribute band that did a world tour a few years ago, Mercury.

Bjorn Again: http://www.bjornagain.com/
Mercury: http://www.mercury-queentribute.co.uk/

The thing that really gets me is that so many of these bands have enough ticket sales to become surprisingly successful.

It seems that tribute bands focus on the theatrical aspects of their product... in other words, all they have to do is get a reasonable facsimile of the music (not that far off from the original), and then reproduce the stage production from the original bands.

Here's a site that lists 26 Rush tribute bands alone:

I am not a tribute band fan. I am not saying that they don't re-produce good music.... only that I would rather watch the real deal. But hey, thats just me.

As long as the stuff they make sounds good. I don't care if they're a tribute band or not.

If they're really good I may just confuse them with the originals...for uber is my knowledge of music related things hehehe

not.
