This is another great, classic televsion series. Magnum P.I. aired from 1980-88. Eight years of excellence. Magnum P.I. had 164 episodes, all were fun to watch. Magnum P.I. had everything from action, adventure, humour, suspense, tragedy, and tons of excitemnet. The great cast of Magnum P.I. included:
Tom Selleck .... Thomas Sullivan Magnum III
John Hillerman .... Jonathan Quayle Higgins III
Roger E. Mosley .... Theodore 'TC' Calvin
Larry Manetti .... Orville 'Rick' Wright
Tom Selleck fit the role of the casual, intelligent, funny character of Magnum like a glove. Magnum ( Tom Selleck ) and Jonathan Quayle Higgins III ( John Hillerman ) played off each other well. Both Magnum and Higgins never saw eye to eye and would always argue over something leaving Magnum to do things his way or the highway. Higgins was an uptight, anal retentive, eccentric man who was also extremely knowledgable and was Magnums boss. I do like Theodore 'TC' Calvin ( Roger E. Mosley ), who was Magums friend and helicopter pilot. TC would always assist Magnum whenever he needed him, even if TC didn't want to get involved. Last but not least is Orville 'Rick' Wright ( Larry Manetti ) another close and good friend of Magnums. I have to say all the characters on Magnum P.I. were great. The stories were well written and the acting was good also, especially Tom Sellecks. Magnum P.I. would have to be considered, in my opinion, one the best T.V series ever created and untouchable even today. With 85% of T.V. shows being weak and horrid at leat Magum P.I and some of the other classics will be there for us to turn back to. Is there any other Magnum P.I. fans out there? Let me know your thoughts on magnum P.I.

This was a classic show. I remember it used to come on at 11:00 at night when I was a kid and I had to sneak around so that I could see it. Magnum P.I. was a very well done show... I am not sure if the show was good or if all the girls in bikinis or if it was Ferrari that I liked so much.
The TV show just had a certain appeal that you don't see in todays t.v. shows.
Mr Film, you are correct that Tom Selleck fit the role perfectly. He was humorous, intelligent and a lady's man.... gotta love the old tv series.
The scripts were very original for its day, and the show relied on story rather then special effects.
Only question I have... what was the rich owner dudes name? Robin Masters? |

I don't think Higgens was Robin Masters. I remember an episode from the first season where Higgens. Magnum and Robin were together. I think that Robin was his own person... but I heard somewhere that Robin might have been related to Magnum PI... a grandfather perhaps.
I would be interested to hear everyones opinion on this... |
