I'm Canadian and proud of it. The Canadian music scene has skyrocketed with talent. Sloan, the guys from Nova Scotia, have been in the music industry for some time now. The sound, and raw energy Sloan pound out is energetic and full of passion. Sloan have the slight influencing sounds of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, mixed with their own original touch. Making them one of the best Canadian rock bands out there. I highly recommend these true rock n' rollers from the East Coast. Sloan, a must have in your CD library.

This forum is dedicated to all great Canadian music artists. Sloan being one of many. I see Darth Tader put The Tragically Hip down. What are your reasons for choosing The Hip? They are a good band. I'm a fan of their earlier work. The Hips new material isn't bad, and it's not good either. They seem to be slacking in quality music becoming boring. They have the potential of releasing far better material than they have in recent years. I hope The Hips future efforts will be improved in comparison to their beginings. Last great album by the The Tragically Hip was ' Fully, Completely '.

CANADIAN BANDS THAT SUCK!

1. Nickelback
2. Theory of A Deadman
*Note!! If you like either of these bands, dont be upset. Not everyone evolves at the same rate
3. Jann Arden - Good singer but quit crying, you're well fed, Big house.
4. Our Lady Peace - Great songs, but Raine.. the helium junkie. c-ya

Dishonourable mention: Canadian radio.. thanks for the Colin James, Tom Cochrane, Kim Mitchell, all of the above, and not actually looking for more Canadian content to meet your quota. Or at least more than one song. Canadian radio seriously sucks. Thank goodness i dont look to them for musical guidance, I'd be a drone just like most people, possibly just like you.

There are some really good canadian bands/artists out there. And some really bad ones.
However, I really do like Nickleback, good old home boys. I really mean that...they are from around here
And I really do not like The hip or Barenaked ladiies YUCK!
