The Shining
Poltergeist
Exorcist
Evil Dead
Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho
There is another one that really scared me as a kid but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. Basic premise... and it is a long time since I saw it... was about a guy who for some reason gets trapped in an old house.. much like a castle. I guess his car is getting repaired or something and he cannot leave. Problem is I can't remember much about it other then it really creeped me out. I think the show is from the late 70's which would explain why I cannot remember it very well. |

| The Ring was psychologically disturbing. The movie creeps me out just thinking about it. That's why I picked The Ring as my fav. I can't wait to see The Ring Two. I have no expectations whatsoever for the sequel. I pray it's good, and they better explain the history of Samara more. |

Gotta offer up my list:
1. The Exhorsist.
2. Alien (in space, no one can hear you scream)
3. The Last Seduction (females can be evil, too)
4. Devil's Advocate (Keanu Reeves notwithstanding)
5. The Omen (original)
#3 isn't necessarily considered horror, but it certainly gives a guy nightmares.

Good list.
I haven't seen The Last Seduction so I cannot comment on that one. But the rest are very good choices. |

| Darth Bacon I think The Ring scared you something fierce and caused you to wet the sheets a bit. Don't worry I won't tell. To Icon I really like your choices. The Last Seduction made me not want to trust women at all. Great choice. I forget about that one. How about John Carpeneter's 'In The Mouth Of Madness' starring Sam Neil? Creepy, twisted good. A must watch. |

i have to agree with MR.E.... the changling was freakin scarey, and it was also a canadian film, which is scarey in its self! as for the rest...here is my list:
1> The Changling
2> Night of the Living Dead (original)
3> The Sentinal (very disturbing)
4> Texas Chainsaw Masacar (original)
5> Alien (Ridley Scott's masterpiece)
If you havent seen the sentinal, or the original T.C.M, they are deffinatley ones to check out!!

| I'm a John Carpenter fan. Good time fun. As I mentioned earler In The Mouth Of Madness is a must see with a nice ending. One of Carpeneter's best films. Watch it. Discuss it. |

I never would have come up with Star Trek... not in a million years. Thats why I like forums... different view points.. and thinking back to being a kid that did bother me too. |
