Anyone else remember a TV series in the early 80's called Tales of the Golden Monkey?

This TV series only lasted 22 episodes airing from 1982 - 1983 but it all of the elements to be a great series. It was an Indiana Jones kinda of TV series that was funny and full of adventure. It was based around a 1930's Pacific Islands bush pilot, Jake Cutter and his companions who always seem to be getting into trouble. The show centered around a fictional tropical area called Boragora, the port in the Marivella Islands in 1938. Jake Cutter flies his Grumman Goose amphibian on inter-island flights and finds adventure every week. Helping Jake out are his mechanic/co-pilot, Corky, an absent-minded alcoholic with an almost child-like quality, and Jack, Jake's one-eyed, talking (one bark means no, two barks mean yes) terrier with a definite attitude.

This show was soo much fun as a kid. It was too bad it ended so abruptly. Anyone else remember it?

Complete credited cast:
Stephen Collins .... Jake Cutter
Jeff MacKay .... Corky
Caitlin O'Heaney .... Sarah Stickney White
Roddy McDowall .... Bon Chance Louis
John Calvin .... Reverend Willie Tenboom
Marta DuBois .... Princess Koji
John Fujioka .... Todo
Les Jankey .... Gushie the Waiter
Ahmed Kalane .... The Bartender
Regular guests:
Greg Elliot .... Sparks (4 episodes)
Conrad Bachmann .... Commander / Officer / ... (4 episodes)
Elizabeth Lindsey .... Tiki (3 episodes)
William Forsythe .... Kurt (2 episodes)
Johnny Sekka .... Black Man (2 episodes)

Yes I do. When I was a kid, Tales Of The Golden Monkey was my favourite show. For years I asked friends if they remembered the show and they responded with a definate No. It's great to see others, like you Chris, remember Tales. Maybe, one day the show will resurface and be aired again on Prime or Deja View. Let's hope.
