On Tuesday June 7/05 two suprisingly good movies hit DVD.
1. BE COOL - starring John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Vince Vaughn, Danny DeVito, Cedric The Entertainer, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, and Harvey Keitel. This sequel to the dark, twisted comedy hit 'Get Shorty' is equally good in every aspect, if not better. Chili Palmer (Travolta) decides to quit the movie biz and get involved in the music scene instead. Chili finds and steals a new, beautiful, talented singer from a rival music label creating war involving everyone. Soon Chili Palmer discovers how the crazy music industry really works. A very funny sequel. Rent it and let me know what you thought of Be Cool.
2. THE MACHINIST - starring Christian Bale, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Michael Ironside. Trevor Reznick (Bale) is gradually wasting away to nothing. Skin and bones. Reznick hasn't been able to sleep for a year affecting his pyshical and mental health causing him to have disturbing visions of a co-worker who apparently doen't exist, and no one believes him. The deeper Reznick embarks on his hellish journey the more he fears discovering the truth about himself waiting around the corner. A must see movie that slipped by the radar. The Machinist is dark, and edgey with a strong performance by Christian Bale. Let me know your thoughts on the film. |

1. Hitch starring Will Smith, Eva Mendes, and Kevin James. This movie is funny with a serious side to it. Alex Hitchen's (Smith) is New York's popular matchmaker for men. He guarantees success saying any man can sweep any women of their feet. You just have to play the game right. The key word is 'listen' when a women is talking to you and not stare at their lips, or breasts, only look them in their eyes. Things change for bachelor Hitch when he falls for Sara Mels (Mendes) a columnists. That's only the beginning. When Albert Brennaman (James) asks for Hitch's help, an unorthodox, shy, and no self esteem comes into the picture to win heiress Allegra Cole (Amber Valleta) things spiral out of control. Can Hitch help Albert and save his tipsy relationship with Sara? Watch and find out. A definate renter of the month. |

This movie is about Jack Starks (Brody) a Gulf War veteran who's wrongfully accused for murder and placed into a mental institution. There Stark undergoes a new experiment that send him on a mindblowing journey into the future where he sees his own death, and tries whatever it takes to prevent it. Check this movie gem out. |
