|
|
Ok, here are the rules:
post a line verse or chorus from a favorite song of yours, try to refrain from posting the whole song. please only cover one song per post. with the lyric explain what it is that you like, does it make you feel an emotion, does it rhyme well, does it make you laugh, does it say something that you can relate to ect. post as many times as you like but please remember only 1 song per post. and please tell us what the song title is and who it is by, and if you know any relevant history behind the song let us know that also.
I'll start with my signature:
it is from the metallica song Outlaw Torn from the Load album. seeing as Metallica is one of my favorite bands and load is my favorite CD of theirs it is fitting that I should start with it. for some reason it just sticks out to me. i like the references to see me, hear me ect and i really like the line "and if my face becomes sincere, beware" it conjures an image of this person who is really messed up and confused and potentially dangerous.
Ok, there ya go, now its your turn. more to come later. |

'Here we are now, entertain us'. It's simple and to the point like hitting up a party and saying ..'well I'm here now suprise me with what you got., and it better be BEEP good'. Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. A true masterpiece. One of my fav bands back in the day. |

great lyrics!
ok here is another one:
"The picture you see is no portrait of me
It's too real to be shown to someone I don't know"
New Order cd: Technique Song: Round and Round
i like this lyric cause it kind of reminds me of how we act with people that we dont know well. we show them a version of ourselves that is only part of what we really are cause our Portrait is to much to show someone we dont know. |

So mother, I thank you
For all you've done and still do
You got me, I got you
Together we always pull through |

I'm standing at the coast
and I listen to the waves
I'm searching for a place
to anchor my heart
But the water is too deep
to find You
I'm drifting away
washed to the shore
Sand in my eyes
I can't find You
I'm searching stone for stone
I'm diving blue for blue
I'm diving deep in You
but I can't find You
Waters wash my soul
I listen to the waves
telling stories far from home
They live and breathe and break
they're washing clear my soul
this song always makes me simultaneously happy and really sad. I can't explain what it is about it that does this, it just does.
[edit]btw - Song is called "Can't find You" and it's by a Band called Darkseed[/edit] |

please sir tell me why there's no black superman, kkk kryptonite?
"god only makes caucasian superheroes."
please sir tell me why we stick a man on the moon when life on earth's so
cheap.
"son, we gotta do our bit for the world trade deficit."
please sir tell me why if 'god is love' I'm so dysfunctional.
please sir tell me why there's so much vagrancy.
"layabouts get a job."
well there's an opening for a part-time una-bomber.
please sir tell me why my life's so pitiful but "the future's so bright."
well i'd look ahead but it burns my retinas.
Please Sir by Pitchshifter

Maybe not my favorite but I've always liked this song and this certain part:
here we go again
analyzed the world I was born into
but I could never understand
knew I never wanted to grow up if that meant being a "man"
dominating strict competition is the meaning of our lives
stomping on the weak keeps us the winner of the battle in our minds
tensions in our lives that are destroying our minds
unite themselves together to make our conciousness blind
conditioned to self-interest with emotions locked away
if that's what they call normal I'd rather be insane

"As life proceeds, I'd ideally like the real me to show itself more often, and be less selective, and for the other me, which is so ugly and grotesque, to dwindle and perish. Realistically, that won't happen."
Sinking sand swirling at my throat,
venom floats, my memories overdose
As a child a split reality,
licking my wounds from playground brutality
Symptoms show, feeling comatose,
lost control, still my cancer grows
Abandon hope, all emotions starve, on tightened skin,
my message is carved - my message is carved
Health of mind, like sparkling gold -
Colourblind and yet I'm sold
Fertile breed - Spewing like a superbulimic
