Ada is best known for her role as Leah Patterson Baker in the daytime soap opera Home and Away. Nicodemou first auditioned for a role in Home and Away at the age of 13, and although unsuccessful, she earned time as an extra. At the age of 15 she was cast as Katarina in Heartbreak High and established herself as one of the series most popular actresses. She became so popular that even although her role was intended to be a 12-week performance, Ada earned a full time spot and played the role for three years. After leaving Heartbreak High, Nicodemou completed her studies, and returned to acting with a role as Fiona in the series Breakers. She also played Dujour (the White Rabbit Girl) in The Matrix. In 2000 Ada’s biggest break came as she joined the cast of Home and Away, playing Leah Polous (later Patterson). Nicodemou earn critical acclaim which led to nominations for a Gold Logie as Australia's most popular television performer at the TV Week Logie Awards of 2004 and 2005. In 2005, she won the final of Dancing with the Stars, based on the British program Strictly Come Dancing, in which celebrities from various fields are paired with champion dancers and compete in a ballroom dancing staged over several weeks.
